I’m not ready for the winter, but I’m definitely ready for Halloween and everything that entails. We’re heading to Puerto Rico this week, but I’ll be back and ready for some creepy, eerie Halloween events around NYC.
You can also still get those Halloween-themed sips at locations all around the city, which I mentioned at the end of last week’s roundup.
Here are the highlights for this week! (Note: Though I receive most of these as press info, I don’t get anything from sharing these events.) Enjoy!
Cool Things Happening In NYC, October 17-24
A Rocky Horror Extravaganza at IC (Oct 18)

Catch a screening of legendary Rocky Horror Picture Show at Industry City this weekend. Celebrate 50 years (wow, has it really been that long?) with a live band, goodies, and live performers acting out famous scenes. More info and tickets here.
Third Weekend at Governor’s Island (Oct 18)

I never need another reason to head to Governors Island, but here’s one anyway: October 18th will be a day to celebrate art and culture. Stop by to check out inflatable sculptures, live music, special performances, and more. The day will end with Sally Beauty Twin’s Illuminated Species Parade. More info can be found here.
FAD Market, the Beer Edition (Oct 18-19)
FAD Market, the popup marketplace of local artists, is heading to Brooklyn Brewery this weekend. The event will be held in the tasting room of the brewery, but will also spill out onto North 11th Street and Wythe Ave. Enjoy Brooklyn Brewery sips on tap while you browse more than 35 local artists and merchants of all things handmade, vintage, and otherwise unique. More info here.
Garden of Shadows Exhibit (Through October 28)
Is this one cheating? Maybe. I think it’s cool, though, and it’s ending soon. The Garden of Shadows exhibit is on view at Edge in NYC—that’s the one that hangs “1,100 feet above NYC,” for the record. This is a Gothic floral display by Fleurs de Villes, complete with Halloween-themed cocktails and meals. Family and adults-only performances are ongoing until the end of the month. Check out the details here.
